Marakopa Waves

Marakopa waves Barbed wire fences Choices we make Based on frames Of reference Choices dictated by Education and understanding Ethics put aside for Passions or not As need and desire dictate 6 foot waves or 5 metre fences What is the difference We can make? To thinking, understanding And decision making To enable ourselves And others To enjoy the waves.

Speaking to a group

I cant help thinking
We speak a lot, whilst saying little
People talk to be heard, words fall like heavy rain
Numbing our senses & prohibiting thought
My mind screams out of the fog
Asking for peace & time to catch up
Do they take note of the sagging heads & drooping eyes
Surreptitious glances at watch & phone
I sit here as they think I'm taking notes
The world is a noisy place

Red Sands

Red Sands
Stretching away miles
Interspersed with
Small hill and scrub
Land of lizard
And rainbow
Hunter stalks forward
Stops
One legged stance
Tastes the breeze
Creeping slowly
Toward dinner
Throws his spear

And still

I write of love
and sun and sand
beaches and trees
green leaves and bbqs
snow storms in the south
as the weather crashes
Sunlight in the north
hot pools and hot lunches
much laughter over latte
groups of friends
spending time
and a dime or two
on clothes and play
to while away the day
before nights adventures
of dinner and romance
in simmering water
followed by walking
and talking
holding of hands
movies and popcorn
to follow with bed
to be warm and soporific
and still

Benefit

Gambling is a way
to return to those
who pay our wages
the benefits attained
from our labors
which if I'm right
they already have

The Need to Gamble

Gamblers and their needs
met by machine and card
costing bread and milk
taken from the mouths
of babies and parents
stolen funds and stolen lives
redeemed in bar and club
to feed the addiction
and compulsion of rich men
to make money from who and why?

Shames Reversal

I got to thinking
About shame
& bad feeling

About how to shift
From bad to good
From wrong to right

About recognition
I got it wrong
I messed it up

About being mad at me
An end time
A new start

About conclusion
A timely reminder
To treat me gently

Nebulous

Clouds of information streaming
From mouths to ears
Regurgitating air and noise
Overt politeness masking aggressive intent
And controlling ideology
Working through issues and tasks
Internal politics and alliances
Vying and jockeying for position
Interesting though it is
Really - what does it all mean?

The Meeting

Cantankerous old men and silly girls
Flirting with wasting time as a distraction
From the important business of being alive
To serve those other lonely people
Who are spending money and time
In order to avoid the important business
Of being alive to serve mankind
In improving the lot of those
Even less fortunate
Who struggle
Simply to live

Comprehension

I have to wonder
at man's propensity for trying
to control all things
that he might be in charge
even of the things
he did not create
striving to order
a world of perceived chaos
that he might
be able to understand
that which is beyond comprehension
and by this I mean
man himself

8 March 2011

We will see what we see

we will see what we see
what will be will be
to see daddy you must look as a child
fresh and free to observe and wonder
what is this thing that I see
My name is Lucy and I see what I see
What I see is beauty and funny and terribly interesting
I would like to see more of this and that
to explore with my eyes and my ears
my nose and my toes and my fingers too
to taste and smell and touch and feel
to hear and to see what I will see
this is the things that make me, me
I am Lucy you see
do you see me
am I pretty

Find You

Find you I will.. and we will be...
What is , is
already and irrevocably
warmth and burning
desires and sleepless nights
the perhaps and maybes
wanting and running scared
to be aware of yearning for the one
who perhaps can fill the void
to make whole the unit of two
friends and so much more
perhaps.
